Saso Filipovsi, started his coaching career in 1996 as assistant coach of KK Union Olimpija. Saso has since gained immense experience for his young age also holding positions as assistant coach of CSKA Moscow and Head Coach of Turow Zgorzelec, Lokomotiv Rostov and Lottomatica Roma before returning to take his current position as Head Coach of Union Olimpija.
Olimpija competes in the Premier A Slovenian League, the Adriatic League, and is the only Slovenian team to compete in the Euroleague. Olimpija Has a tradition of nurturing and developing young talented players who have since gone on to become stars.
