The mass participation and community events demonstrate the ethos of Future Stars in developing basketball from grassroots to the elite.

These events not only provide an opportunity for young aspiring players to take part but also showcase elite performance in exciting spectator fuelled events.

Future Stars Proj3kt 3×3

Future Stars Proj3kt 3×3 took place as part of Future Stars 2013 events.

Future Stars in conjunction with England Basketball and the BBL Foundation’s Proj3kt 3on3 held the  Future Stars Proj3kt 3×3 FIBA endorsed Competition open to Streetballers from the UK, France and Benelux.

The competition was held on 30th June 2013 at Surrey Sports Park and offered the chance to win qualification to the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Challenger in Romania, flights and accomodation included!

The competition was open in the following categories: Under 14 Male, Under 14 Female, Under 16 Male, Under 16 Female, Under 18 Male, Under 18 Female, Open Male, Open Female.

Along with a place on the FIBA World Rankings the winner of the Male Open category received qualification to the FIBA World Tour Challenger in Bucharest, Romania, flights and accommodation included (max 3 players). Winner of Bucharest Tournament receives €5000 (€1000 for runner up).

Winners of the U18 Male and Female categories received places on the Oviedo Baloncesto Summer Camp (prize included camp, accommodation, food and ground transport in Spain for max 3 players per team). Other prizes were available for the remaining categories.Future Stars Proj3kt 3×3

Future Stars FIBA 3×3 Tournament 2012

The last day of Future Stars 2012 included the first ever FIBA 3×3 tournament which attracted over 70 teams from London and the South East. Teams competed in U14, U16, U18 and Open Male categories and Open Women’s.  The Open Men’s category was one by Green Light who through winning the competition qualified to travel to Switzerland all expenses paid to represent England in the FIBA World Tour Challenger.

Future Stars 2011 Community Open Sessions

Future Stars 2011 London provided the opportunity for young aspiring local basketball players to actively participate in the Future Stars weekend. To capture the expertise of the top International coaches form across Europe who brought their National teams to participate in the Future Stars International Tournament, training and coaching sessions were provided for local youngsters. These training sessions were led by the National coaches with a proven track record across Europe providing the local youngsters with the opportunity to benefit from the high level quality coaching that lies ahead of them as potential future stars.

Future Stars Community Sessions 2010

Future Stars 2010 events saw the introduction of mass participation in both London and Krakow.

Future Stars 2010 London included a community session to compliment the International Tournament and Coaching conference. The Loul Deng Foundation ran a Children’s camp which was the opportunity for aspiring young players to receive coaching from a celebrity NBA player.

Future Stars 2010 Poland was designed with the idea in mind that all people involved in the sport of basketball could find a form of active participation. To ensure that another NBA player Marcin Gortat ran a Camp which attracted 150 children and young people. There was also a 3×3 Streetball Competition open to over 100 teams and, for more traditionally minded players, there was an Amateur League Championship of 24 teams. A Slam Dunk competition was also staged to please he crowds. These events were staged on a specially constructed professional quality outdoor court with seating and roof in a major tourist hotpsot in Krakow, attracting massive media attention including National TV coverage.
